Built in the 1920s, the Bridge of Lions connects mainland St. Augustine to Anastasia Island across the Matanzas Bay. Developed by D.P. Davis, this iconic structure is a double-leaf bascule, or drawbridge, bridge boasting lion sculptures named Firm and Faithful. The one-mile Bridge of Lions features sidewalks along both sides for pedestrians and cyclists to explore both sides.
