Fort Mose Historic State Park is a 40-acre site just two miles north of St. Augustine. Registered as a U.S. National Historic Landmark, Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first free African-American settlement in the U.S. and was originally recognized as a landmark in 1994.

While the fort itself no longer stands on the site, the state park features a visitor center and museum to learn about the site's history. In addition to its historic importance, this site is known for its beauty.

Located along the Tolomato River, Fort Mose Historic State Park is an ideal spot for picnicking, kayaking, birding, and more.
